West Kowloon Cultural District | 'M+ Friday Nights: Dreamscapes' to be held on Friday, 3 October 2025, featuring captivating music and dance experiences that explore dreamlike environments

M+, the museum of visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong, will present 'M+ Friday Nights: Dreamscapes' on the evening of Friday, 3 October 2025. Inspired by the new special exhibition, 'Step into the Dreamscape: Environmental Art by Women Artists from the 1950s to Now', the October edition of M+ Friday Nights will offer alternative music and dance experiences designed for specific environmental artworks, leading visitors on a journey through fantastical realms crafted by different creators.
'M+ Friday Nights: Dreamscapes' will feature captivating performances by singer-songwriter queen, Ivana Wong, and pianist Chu Siu-kai. The night will also include ethereal music by sound artist ena mori, immersive reggae rhythms by MouseFX feat. STEFFUNN and Heavy HK Sound, and unique experiences such as interactive music mindfulness and contemporary dance explorations throughout the galleries. Visitors can open their senses to light and sound as they immerse themselves in dreamlike environmental artworks.
Ticket holders can also visit all the exhibitions in the M+ Lower Lobby and Level 2 during the event, which will be open until 22:30. Visitors are required to remove their shoes and wear socks when visiting the exhibition 'Step into the Dreamscape: Environmental Art by Women Artists from the 1950s to Now', and a shoe storage area is provided at the entrance of the gallery.

Live Music Performances
Ivana Wong x Chu Siu-kai
Dubbed Hong Kong's 'singer-songwriter queen', Ivana Wong has won multiple awards since her debut in 2005 and is known for her sold-out concerts and numerous personal creations. She has also composed hundreds of musical works for various singers, films, TV dramas, and stage plays. In 2021, she embarked on the art project 'The Missing Something', which sparked discussions about 'missing' aspects of life and reminded people of what truly matters through this multi-perspective art initiative. 'The Missing Something' combines interactive art and visual elements, offering audiences an immersive experience through a series of installations and live music performances.
Chu Siu-kai is a pianist, composer, arranger, record producer, music director, and scholar who showcases his versatile talent across various music domains, making him one of Hong Kong's most sought-after musicians. Known for his performances that blend jazz sensibilities with avant-garde styles, his musical footprint spans both local and international stages. As a cross-disciplinary artist, Chu has collaborated with internationally renowned visual artists, sound artists, theatre practitioners, and pop music celebrities. His mastery of free improvisation and contemporary music has forged a unique artistic identity.
ena mori
Inspired by the ethereal sounds of Dream Pop and the avant-garde style of Art Pop, ena mori is a forward-thinking musician based in Asia. Her work blends the delicacy of classical music with the edge of contemporary sounds, showcasing her diverse musical styles and bold artistic vision. Her debut album, 'DON'T BLAME THE WILD ONE!', marked a breakthrough moment in her career, topping the 2022 NME Asia's Best Albums list and receiving a five-star rating. ena mori continuously pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefining pop music by fusing timeless elegance with fearless experimentalism.
Music Appreciation
MouseFX feat. STEFFUNN and Heavy HK Sound
MouseFX, who won the Bronze Award at the Carlsberg Pop Music Festival with his reggae adaptation collaboration with the band Icestone2, fell in love with reggae music after graduating in the 1990s. He founded the reggae band Crazy Lion in 2000 and established Sensi Lion in 2009, serving as composer, Dub Master, and lead singer. Since 2015, MouseFX has been performing as 'MouseFX - The Roaming Sound System', taking his original reggae creations to the streets, live events, and music festivals. As a pioneer of Cantonese reggae music in Hong Kong, his work seamlessly blends Roots Reggae with the Cantonese language.
Talk and Play
Music Mindfulness
Musician Liu Junhao (HakGwai) is dedicated to integrating music, breathing, and mindfulness practices, helping people focus on the connection between their bodies and the present environment. He will present a special music performance in the gallery and invite the audience to interact and explore the relationship between their voices, breathing, and the music.
Body Movement
Led by professional dancers from the City Contemporary Dance Company, participants will wander through different corners of the gallery, attempting to express their feelings and emotions through body movements and interacting with the surrounding environment.
Founded in 1979, the City Contemporary Dance Company is Hong Kong's first full-time professional modern dance company. With over 200 original choreographic works to its name, the company aims to embody Hong Kong's contemporary culture through its distinct style and professional dance productions, tracing the trajectory of contemporary dance development.
'After the Dreamscape: Pillow Talk'
Led by M+ docents, participants will gather in a circle for a 15-minute intimate conversation to explore the artists' creative concepts and share how art touches the senses and inspires mind-body resonance.
Drink and Unwind
Participants can purchase snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on-site. No outside food or drinks are allowed, and baggage checks will be conducted before entering the museum. M+ members and sponsors will enjoy an exclusive 8% discount on their purchases during the event.
Ticketing Arrangements
The public and guests of members can purchase 'M+ Friday Nights' tickets for HK$280 starting 22 September 2025. From 8 to 21 September 2025, early bird tickets will be available for HK$200 on Klook, Ctrip, KKday, Hong Kong China Travel Service, Cityline, and Trip.com. Early bird tickets for full-time students* are priced at HK$140 and will be on sale via Cityline. All participants can use their event tickets or valid membership cards to visit all galleries in the M+ Lower Lobby and Level 2 until 22:30 on 3 October 2025. This event is open to individuals aged 18 or above only.
*Full-time students aged 18 or above must present valid student IDs upon entry to use the early bird student tickets.
